Structural Inspection and Testing Service
Our Structural Inspection and Testing Service is a ‘top to toe’ assessment of a column above, and below ground (deep within the buried root section) to determine the risk of structural collapse via a risk assessment procedure. Our service is performed for compliance with legislation and in accordance with guidance from BS5649 / EN40 and the Institution of Lighting Engineers TR22 (2007) and encompasses our considerable knowledge and experience.
Visual Inspection
Visual external inspection of the column’s bracket, shaft and base section is augmented where appropriate, by the use of our CCTV probe for visual internal examination of the column’s shaft, base section and underground root section.Testing
Our revolutionary product dipstik technology permits the condition of the vital root section of a metal Street Lighting Column to be assessed via the direct measurement of metal wall thickness within the underground section down to depths of 2.0 metres (typical root depth 1.5m) without the need for excavation! This ensures all assessable parts of the root section are encompassed within our overall structural condition risk assessment.
In addition a full and detailed analysis of the hidden 'hot swaged joint' is carried out ensuring this vunerable area is tested and considered within the risk process.
