Thermography is a method of producing visual images from invisible thermal radiation. Infrared thermographic cameras are used to detect thermal energy and convert it to visible images. The images can then be analysed by a Thermographer who can identify any problem areas.
Thermography is ideal for carrying out Electrical Safety Inspections, be it to find that loose connection or a potentially overloaded component in your main electrical panel.
We all understand the consequences of electrical system failure and the associated costs of having no power. Whilst an electrical fault may in itself only cost a small amount to repair, if left to fail the expediture for that same fault may run into thousands of pounds in lost production, downtime, wages, insurance excesses, injury claims etc.
The fact that many potential breakdowns manifest themselves by changes in temperature long before they get to the failure stage, is an opportunity to use thermal imaging as a means of highlighting potential problems before they develop into faults. The temperature data is collected by means of a non-contact thermal imaging camera. Localised hot or cold spots, temperature differing from the expected or temperatures changed from previous recorded trends, indicate potential problems, needing more detailed examination.
Our clients are provided with a comprehensive thermographic survey report showing both digital and infra-red images with a detailed log of all faults exposed and prioritised actions which can reduce costly maintenance and maintain productivity.
Electrical Testing Ltd offers you a professional thermography service at competitive prices. We can develop a preventive maintenance plan to suit your needs or visit your site for a consultation. Contact us to discuss your thermographic survey requirements on 01493 751859 and ask for James Hill.
